Tien Yi-Chiao

iiiao is the design practice of Tien Yi-Chiao, a Taiwanese-Finnish interior architect and industrial designer based in Helsinki, Finland. The name, drawn from T(i)en Y(i)-Ch(iao), echoes the Mandarin word for "desire"—the spark of all creation. The singular “i” reflects individuality, while “iii” embodies the strength of collaboration. In Finnish, where the letter “i” weaves through words like a quiet rhythm, it also reflects the Nordic influence in Tien’s work. Rooted in curiosity and cultural narratives, iiiao is a pursuit of innovation, personal expression and multidisciplinary synergy.
